Courage is one of the elements that had a profound effect on me when learning to Choose Love this year. The program has changed my perspective on life, who I am today, and who I want to be later. Through patience, growth and synergy, and choosing love I am able to implement all these elements in my mature adult life and frame my perspective on the meaning of my life.
Teaching the core concepts of the Choose Love Enrichment Program fundamentally transformed my classroom and became part of our culture. During the course of teaching the formula for choosing love, my classroom climate improved dramatically and students began using the phrase ‘choosing love’ not only in our classroom but in their daily lives. In addition, I personally benefited and was able to use the lessons in my own life. I feel that I am a better person because I implemented the Choose Love Enrichment Program in my class.
This Movement is empowering children to be both self aware and aware of the feelings and emotions of those around them. SEL should be taught right along with the regular classroom curriculum.
Choose Love Enrichment Program is not only for the students but it gives me the important tools to be a better teacher. I learned to use courage, gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion-in-action in the classroom. It has given me the vocabulary to help my students through challenges.
This program gives teachers the opportunity to bring the message of choosing love into their classrooms – to give and create a loving environment that students will truly benefit from. This program is beautifully aligned with the importance of school culture. The magic about the curriculum is the simplicity of it. The lessons are designed for 15-20 minutes to fit into our busy school days.
I teach SEL to trauma-informed students who suffer from poverty, violence, abuse, abandonment, and many other factors that get in the way of learning. I’ve used other programs that are very effective, but I LOVE Choose Love! I teach students about Jesse and Scarlett and it really touches their hearts and encourages them to want to do something to institute change.
This is an excellent SEL program and can be easily modified for all levels of students.
Choosing Love improves the attitudes of all those around me.
Within a few days of teaching the first lesson I overheard one of my students tell another student to just take a brave breath and they will be okay. THANK YOU for empowering my students with lifelong skills!
This is a well designed and thought out program.
I will continue to use the program each year. Our school feels transformed by love.
